Kanye was so right.
DALLAS (CBS 11 News) ― The neighborhood where George and Laura Bush are buying a house is one of the most exclusive in North Texas.
And until just a few years ago, it was downright restrictive.
As we first reported Thursday, the Bushes are buying a house in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas. The house on Daria Place is in a neighborhood known as the James Meaders Estates.
Until the year 2000, the neighborhood association's covenant said only white people could live there—unless they were servants.

Meshugganeh Bush
George Bush is trying desperately to get a few things right before he leaves office. Unfortunately, sending a Christmas invitation to Jewish leaders was not one of them.
The president and the first lady invited leaders of America’s Jewish community for a Hanukkah reception at the White House next month - but raised more than a few eyebrows by putting a picture of a Christmas tree on the invitation.
The message reads that the couple “requests the pleasure of your company at a Hanukkah reception,” written beneath an image of a Clydesdale horse hauling a Christmas fir along the snow-dappled drive to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Bush still Toxic
Bush administration officials paved the way Tuesday to revoke parts of a key water quality rule that environmental groups say could greatly limit mountaintop removal mining if it were properly enforced.
The White House and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency signed off on plans by the Interior Department to finalize coal industry-backed changes in a 25-year-old stream protection rule called "the buffer zone rule."
Approval by EPA and the White House Office of Management and Budget clears the way for Interior to publish the final rule well before Dec. 19, the deadline for it to take effect in time to make it tough for the Obama administration to repeal.
